Animated Nightbird

After the customization class at TFCon I was eager to take one of the figures I had laying around and get to work on my first custom of my own planning. I had an Animated Arcee that had a QC issue with a hole in one of her pods.

Stripped all the paint off her and patched up the hole with some wood filler. I also covered up her face w/ filler to make the mask and filled up the top with it as well to form the rest of it. Not entirely pleased with how the head turned out, couldn't get it round enough to my satisfaction. I might make a new one come September when I can get my hands on some of the tools at school.

Lesson learned: Think I'll use enamel next time instead of acrylic, had to do touchups on her after re-assembly due to paint coming off. That's also why I didn't take pictures of her in alt mode, I think she'll lose more paint if I transform her. >.>

Suggestions/constructive criticism welcome.

Paint looks a bit thick on the head, but otherwise good job!

That's actually the texture of the putty unfortunately. I just couldn't get it rounded enough. >.< Thus why I'm not happy w/ the head.

I agree some epoxy putty would work a lot better than wood filler, otherwise very nice first custom.

Re: Animated Nightbird

looks good, man. Get your self some Games work shop green stuff instead of wood filler ( as we said, it was the best option for the class) it takes alot longer to dry but will work out so much better for you.

Re: Animated Nightbird

Looks great for your first custom, bud! Be careful with enamel paint if you do decide to go that route, I've heard that it can sometimes eat away at the plastic.
