I haven't looked too hard but I can only find him for is $79USD + shipping right now.

A3U sells him for $89 + tax and nobody complains about the mark up there.

You can't anymore, you either got on the Takara wagon early and got those prices or are getting on now and have to deal with the higher prices.

It is why I chuckle when people say they'll wait for a US/Hasbro release for cheaper - reality check for them is that it won't be cheaper and will be hell of a lot harder to find.

Usually going with Anime Export, Nippon-Yassan or HLJ are best bets for good pricing and cheap shipping.

You can't right now for MP17. But I think for MP19 smokescreen u can still find very cheap price from Japan site.

but here's the thing. Shipped to my door (choosing a cheaper shipping option 2-3 weeks w/ tracking) it comes out to be about $70 (not including what the bank/credit card/paypal would choose to do the conversion at).

So the hasbro Prowl at $69 + 12% tax in BC is $78

yes I understand the base figure being only about $50 is what the argument is and yes it would be nice if we got to pay $50 for this too but let's face it we're not getting those prices.

Also, in a hobby where I'm happy paying $90 for the Boosticus add-on kit, why would I complain about a $80 masterpiece figure?

I understand the sentiment but if hasbro/takara didn't do something like this a 3P would've and we definitely wouldn't be paying $80.

that being said I might jump on that smoke screen cause i like that alt mode more than prowl lol.

this puts the "waiting for hasbro" decision in a bad place, since i can get the takara versions on release from ebay for 61-65 shipped, why would i bother scraping and clawing my way to tru to fight the scalpers and pay more for the experience? Especially when every hasbro version hasn't been as nice looking as the takara

I would love it if all the scalpers bought all the TRU stock lose money since no one will buy it from them.
