Here's a Roadbuster WIP pic. Sanded down and filled in the bits I didnt like. He's got a rough "clean" paintjob. Added ball joints to the head and wrist. Hope to have everything together before starting the battle damage tomorrow.

This figure is a huge pain to paint. So many rub issues!

Oh wow! A++++++ all the way! I love how you took the extra step and filled the whole front to make it look less like Captain America. A++++ Kid!

MORE WIP PICS!!!

I've started on a bit of battle damage for Kup; bullet holes all along the side and some cracks in the windshield. Recoil's also coming along great, and I've done a bit of damage to him as well.

Then there's the 3mm clip weapon; it's made from a spare 3mm clip (duh), ROTF Armorhide's weapon and some styrene.

Haha, that's front line infantry if I've ever seen it.

I figured I'd give a bit more of a better look at Recoil. I gave him a red optic to simulate the front of the eye being ripped off. The flash may have obscured it a bit but, only way to see the red in there.

a few more WIP pics guys. I finally fixed Recoil's barrels so they transform properly; just waiting for the paint to dry before I do some damage to it. Should have some finished images of him by Monday, assuming nothing goes wrong *knocks on wooden table*

also have some finished images of Kup's turret gun, which Recoil can use in battle. GIMMICK CONTINUITY.

I'm on the home stretch with Whirl! I don't think I'll get too heavy with battle damage on him, just some gashes and cracks on his windshield.

Trying to find ways to break up all the blue on him without overdoing it has proven to be a real challenge. I think I underestimated how much molded detail is on his legs.

Looking good Mal.

It's surprising how much detail the put into these new bots. Some panel lining or even a black wash can break up the color without too much work.

Where were you five hours ago? :P

I think its safe to say that Whirl will be finished tomorrow. I'll try and have pics up late Friday or on Saturday.

I just realized that that shade of blue combined with the red stripes look more like Thundercracker than Whirl. So what's the verdict on the colours? Not too garish, I hope.

The head is unpainted for two reasons, 1: Whirl's head was usually a different blue from the rest of his body and 2: Based on the transformation, any paint I did put on his head would be ruined. I painted his cycloptic eye red to keep it more G1.

Now if you excuse me, Whirl has a date with a dremmel.
