Generations Drift Reviews
WOW!
I love this figure! My two favorite elements for Transformers are included here:
1. Cool earth based vehicle mode.
2. Awesome Robot Mode!
I just love it when transformers on first glance aren't obviously a "Robot in Disguise" and hide all their Robot elements perfectly. Drift is no exception, he turns from a sexy Japanese Drifting racer into a Ninja Robot? How can you not love that?!
I love the head and the weapons. Drift's robot mode is very faithful to his appearance in the comics and the articulation allows him to be placed in some really neat poses.
Drift gets an A+ from me. What does everyone else think?

Re: Generations Drift Reviews
I really don't like all his shoulder bits. I feel they get in the way of his arm articulation.

Re: Generations Drift Reviews
I love the figure. The only problem I have with it is the paint apps. The "red" paint for the deco doesn't really stay where it should and it tends to show up over the edges and around the corners/curves of the figure. In addition, the "white" main colour of the figure doesn't seem consistent from panel to panel. I have 3 of them and I plan to mix-and-match the parts to make a more "perfect" figure. None of mine have clean red paint that doesn't "spill over". Maybe I am just picky...

Re: Generations Drift Reviews
My main issue with Drift is in his feet, with the huge heels and obtrusive spoiler bits, but all in all you can still put him in some amazing poses that not only look cool but intimidating too. It's not often we get a character with so many blades and versatility on how he can wield them.
Transformation isn't overly complicated but there are a few "tight" points. Mainly in his foot transformation and hood when going from car to robot mode and vice versa but some tricks can be learned to over come them.
Overall, a great figure and you definitely get a good bang for your buck with him. Even if you don't like the character it's difficult to not like the design alone. One can easily overlook him as a comic character and consider him a newly introduced character in the Generations line.
...it's really been tough for me to put him on the shelf since I keep fiddling with him...

Re: Generations Drift Reviews
I love Drift. I agree about the hood bits though... very tricky. Amazing figure for the price though. I also love the sword storage in the doors. It is that kind of engineering and attention that has keep me loving transformers for such a long time.

Re: Generations Drift Reviews
Its funny how at home he seems with all of the other G1 CHUGU figures. In fact I look at my G1 cars and wonder what an actual G1 Drift would look like.

Re: Generations Drift Reviews
I loved Drift ever since I saw a street racer in Japan sporting a similar paint job. I might post it if people are interested; but it shows that the designers did some research.
Also love TF's with Samurai elements (Not many out there) so he's an obvious paring with Bludgeon. Throw in some nice Kanji on the sword and anime (gundam-ish) influences, and you have a great Japanese culture fusion figure!
Kinda neat to note that he's a level 4 difficulty, while most deluxes are level 3. (AFAIK)
