What do you recommend I use to re-attach the pegs on? I am worried that super/crazy glue might not be strong enough to hold it.
5 minute epoxy works great, don't bother with super glue unless you are bonding two perfectly smooth pieces together.

Re: Repair Thread

you're in luck mang!!
(except for the scraped paint on minerva's top of the windshield)
to fix the roof and above the headlights, backsand it,then plastic polish it.

backsand=
1st grit= 240
2nd grit= 320
3rd grit=400
last grit=600(or even 800 if you're picky)

start off with the 240,going pretty agressive(within reason),ultimately
ending with the lighter grits, sanding less and lighter with each grit.
each grit should almost erase the scratches/swirls/scrapes from the last used grit.

once you finish up with the 6 or 8 hundred grit, then hit it with the plastic polish to bring back the stock shine/gloss to the plastic
(some automotive polishes will work too,but make sure it's "fine cut" polish.)

Re: Repair Thread

is there a product where you can remove the small scratches on alternators? a product where the sheen scuff marks are MAGICALLY removed? a polisher that is proven effective on plastic.

small meaning scratches on the sheen of the plastic. its not deep enough to have penetrated the paint job itself. i want to restore the sheen on an alternator's paint job.

Re: Repair Thread

You can try this: http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/zoom.asp?edpZ=91856 (fills in scratches in plastic)

Or a scratch filler for painted surfaces(Nu-Finish, etc.) in any automotive dept.

Re: Repair Thread

Thanks.

I keep seeing those with restoring plastics but those are specifically for clear plastics. I may try to buy some of those tomorrow. hopefully it will work.

Re: Repair Thread

actually those scratches are everywhere really minor but are visible to naked eye depending on certain angles. mostly on the edges of the certain parts. the armour all hides most of the scratches but the ones located near the edge of certain parts drive me nuts. hairline scratches but ack!
