Predictible sales at TRU/Walmart online?

As I've never really paid too much attention to the sales at these stores until recently, would it be unlikely that a big sale the likes of which we've seen recently (up to 20% off in some cases) will happen again?...say, before Dec 1st?

I was tipped off for an online savings of %20 at sears.ca from a member here (thanks again!) and scored Multiplex.

My next wants are Soundwave MP and Predaking from TRU, but their pricetags are HIGH...worthwhile or not, I would not want to jump the gun on a purchase only to have it go on a crazy sale in a month or two.

Can anybody chime in on their experience with the frequency of those types of sales at TRU (or anywhere else, for that matter)? I'm good at guessing Canadian Tire sales, lol...that was probably some of the best advice I ever took: Never (NEVER) pay retail at Crappy Tire! EVER! It all goes on sale eventually!...and lo, it does.

Usually a week or two before Xmas TRU has a 25-30% off Transformers.

But then...the ultimate question...will there be any in STOCK at that time!

What would you guys suggest?...maybe buy em around end November, then get the refund of the sale price?...that should work.

If I'm buying from TRU they sit and remain unopen for the full 45 days until a sale comes along. Because a sale ALWAYS comes along.

Of course with TRU starting to have qualifications for their sales you may not be getting the higher priced items on sale

If you see MP Soundwave, get it. The regular price is a steal. Don't take a chance on stock later on.

Yep, usually sometime in the month leading up to Christmas there is one really good sale at TRU. (30-40% off) Walmart doesn't really seem to do that many sales anymore on action figures, and a lot of the time when they do it just seems to happen without much advertising.

That all said, with the Christmas shopping season about to begin, you will definitely see sales at all the major retailers. How much stock, of high value items, will be left by then is anyone's guess.

The other thing to remember is that the last TRU sale we saw, they specifically excluded "trasformers over $XX.XX" so Soundwave and Metroplex would NOT qualify.

Since they are big ticket items, I think you have to assume that if they go on sale, it will probably be their own special discount sale pricing, and not part of a lumped together sale, at least not until they forget they have them/sell most of them. They would not want to move too much stock right now when they still have a chance of selling them full price to people Christmas shopping.

This. I buy what I want when I see it, then sort out the refunds, etc later. I'm in no hurry to open them up anyways.

Yup and as we speak, another TRU sale on Transformers starts on Friday...and like last time it excludes anything over $59.99, which means no MPs, Metroplex, etc.
