As for Fleamarket, here is SDCC.
Same set up, I guess it's just a big ol fleamarket to you right?

At first glance I thought that was Fan Expo

Re: TF Con 2014 reviews/ Report
Oh I was waiting for you to show up. Actually that isn't the same set up as the one in the current Dealers room. See how every dealer has about the same size and same display? And they are mostly in the same area of the dealers room? And for the record, TFCON is only 13 years old. So you cannot apply it's been working for 30 years unless it actually was because TFCON hasn't even been at this venue for that long and what works with one vender area doesn't work for all because they are all different sizes and shapes.
You should have booths and big displays along walls, and into the hallway along the windows smaller single tables in the centre with rows just for craft tables either in the last two rows or in the centre. Artists remain where they are, they are fine there.

Or they can just keep doing what has been working for these past 13 years.
I'm sure your suggestions will be considered but my opinion is that TFcon has an excellent handle on what they are doing, what their core audience is looking for and has little need to change their approach.

Re: TF Con 2014 reviews/ Report
Also dealers can buy more than 1 table space, therefore its impossible to have every dealer using the same amount of space. If dealer A buys 4 tables and dealer B buys 1, your already lopsided.

Agreed 100%. It worked just fine and I spent a LOT of time in that room. Flow was fine, visibility was fine, odor was fine.

Re: TF Con 2014 reviews/ Report
I found the dealer room setup a bit cramped and found the flow a bit off - mostly because you had these massive booths/setups in the middle dwarfing everything else.

Re: TF Con 2014 reviews/ Report
I think the towering dealers were higher than ever.
There was one touching the ceiling towards the back!
I love the setup, though the exit of the dealer room out towards the artist alley always seems a bit cramped - I'm not really sure why. Maybe I'm getting fatter, haha! Or carrying more bags!
I did notice less strollers this year though. Less babymaking in 2013 I guess.

Being married and not having any kids and no plans - the one thing that drives me bonkers are strollers that take up an entire aisle.
OOAKS is notorious for that.
So I was very thankful to see very little of that at TFCon.
I'm in agreement with Knockout though, larger booths/setups should be at the sides against the walls and the smaller booths/tables should be at the centre. It creates a much better flow and easier to navigate for people.
