Detroit files for bankruptcy protection

Detroit files for bankruptcy protection

The good news is OmniCorp has announced that they are stepping in and will be revitalizing the city, beginning with a boost to law enforcement and ushering a new age of peace and prosperity through their RC-2000 Program.

Unhappy Re: Detroit files for bankruptcy protection

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Seriously...that's so sad. What the hell happened?
(I'm not one to keep up with current American events, sorry)

Quote:
Detroit's budget deficit is believed to be more than $380 million. Orr has said long-term debt was more than $14 billion and could be between $17 billion and $20 billion.
That's all? Doesn't the American gov't spend that much on just an update meeting regarding the Middle East?

The Big Three Automakers going bust back in 2008 pretty much accelerated the downward spiral...

I went to Detroit at 2011/2010, empty, its literally a ghost town, their downtown had nothing to offer because people weren't going.

Re: Detroit files for bankruptcy protection

Maybe they could shrink the city, demolish all the abandoned buildings and neighborhoods, convert it into farmland, and make some money that way?

Nah. Canada should just sell off the "Kanata" Senators, and buy the city. I'm sure we can make use of it. Who wouldn't want the Detriot Red Wings to be a Canadian Team?

Seriously, there's going to be so much land after they bulldoze all those decayed buildings. I'm sure there's plenty of projects that can use that area without having people live there.
