Red face Transformers 3D Fan Art

As a hobby I tinker with 3D modeling and visualizations. I am interested in showcasing some of my TF related projects. I looked and could not seem to find a thread for this sort of thing. I see a lot of threads devoted to photographing and customizing figures.

My first post is of my most recent project. I decided to do a model/render of the G1 Autobot Matrix of Leadership. I looked at the 1985 movie closely and discovered that the Matrix has subtle detail differences depending on where in the movie it appears.

My version is based mostly on the one in Optimus Prime's death scene. I have takes subtle design liberties to bring it all together.

Feel free to comment and critique. Enjoy.

Looks awesome! I love the look of the gold and how the energy almost looks like a liquid. Great work man!

Wow, that does look great. Very detailed.

Is the blue part a sphere with a texture, or did you design some kind of faceted jewel structure?

It is a sphere with a transparent material with bump mapping applied. In essence rippled glass.

Re: Transformers 3D Fan Art

Do you have a version with a light-source rendered inside the Matrix to give the energy a glow?

I'm working on it. This was actually modeled and rendered in an engineering software and as such it has some limitations when it comes to rendering. Once I finish some more details I will be moving it over to a better visualization package to render some video footage.

Re: Transformers 3D Fan Art

I've added some detail and effects to my model and I'm going to render a simple video over the weekend.

I'm really hoping that if there are any other members out there that have created 3D rendered content that they share it here.

Thanks
