Re: Your latest Transformers haul (2021 edition)
Recently got Netflix Nemesis Prime, Netflix Prime and finally opened Netflix Soundwave.
The Nemesis Prime makes me want to track down the Siege Prime with a classics BTS trailer for the full futuristic look. I have a Nemesis BTS trailer already which I think suits NP better than the one he came with. I gave my Earthrise Prime trailer to studio series BB Prime and it’s beauty. Might need a Nemesis BB Prime.
Soundwave is okay, he’s a nice acton figure is how I’d put it. There’s some nice touches and some missess. The extra paint apps are nice. A bit gappy for my tastes in cassette player mode and I swapped his weapons with Siege SW for the red paint apps on the batteries. I may swap the lower arms as well as Siege SW has the paint around his wrists that I like. I sit here staring at him wishing he got the Prime treatment for remolding on his forearms to hide the gap for his hands and ditching the siege bits underneath.
Netflix Prime I dig. I like that the wheels are all painted and the solid navy blue for the Head, hands and legs gives me that toy feel. Some are sour on the window colour but I’ve never been a fan of blue windows on any ground based earth mode bots because there aren’t many blue windows around me for real. I prefer a realistic look over toon for my collection, I’m finding the toon look too bland. Saw SS 86 Grimlock in person, nice figure, size and all but it looked awfully plain I’m taking my chances on a nicer painted version down the line.
I even swapped Henkei Alert’s blue windshield for the tinted generations version because that’s how much I dislike blue windows. So 8 classics style car/truck bots with Blue windows on the G1 section. Henkei Prime and United Magnus, PM Prime from the Siege set, TFCC Sideburn, Gens Nightbeat, United Jazz and ER Grapple and Hoist. Might be 9 with classics Rodimus but he’s buried under FP armour so I can’t see that.
