Henkei Smokescreen and Red Alert!

Both look good. Red Alert has no engine like Henkei Sideswipe, and Henkei Smokescreen looks much nicer than Universe Smokescreen.

The Smokescreen looks much nicer than the Universe version we'll be getting.

red alert looks like a digibash. Line down the side of alt-mode almost seems too straight.

I think both of these pictures are digibashes, using Henkei Silverstreak and Henkei Sideswipe as base images. As such, there's a chance Red Alert will come with a light bar of some sort. Hopefully there will be a Universe 2.0 Red Alert as well; there's still room for another wave of Universe repaints before the movie stuff starts coming in.

I don't plan on getting Smokescreen nor Red Alert (not much of a fan of these characters), but Henkei Smokescreen's proposed paint design looks better than Universe. Yeah I would think that these are digibashed images too.

I'll reserve final judgment until we see actual finished production figures instead of digibashes, but if those mock-ups are more or less accurate, Smokescreen will definitely look better... assuming he doesn't get a chromed spoiler. Can't say much about Red Alert other than I'm a little disappointed that they'll be using the Sunstreaker/Sideswipe mold. I was personally hoping for a new mold that could maybe double as Wheeljack or something.

I'm starting to wonder if it's in the TakTom/Hasbro handbook to squeeze up to 3 characters out of as many molds as possible considering how many we've seen this happen to via Classics as well as Universe. Maybe (hopefully) that means they'll paint Ironhide/Ratchet black and throw us a Trailbreaker. Though it makes me wonder what could be in store for guys like Jazz, Wheeljack & Tracks if we ever get them.

what happen to red alert? looks like a cheap toy to me...
