Siege Blast effect warning!

As it's been reported before that flexible parts appear to eat away the plastic that it's in contact with.

This is to inform everyone that this is indeed true for the blast effects.

I left one in my Omega for a while, and when a member at TFW2005 reminded me about soft plastic, I checked and found that it had indeed stuck together.

I twisted as gently as I could and it finally gave and came out, but leaving a small transfer of plastic on it.

So unless you are planning to never remove the blast effect from your display, I highly recommend not using them for long term.

For me, I've set them aside for picture sessions only, I'll never leave them in my figures.

Yeah, I figured these items would be troublesome so I never use them and leave them in a container.

I noticed that the transparent plastic was problematic with the Prime Cyberverse figures and their energon weapons way back when. These weapons were stored in a zip-lock bag and untouched for many years. When I sold a few cyberverse figures a while back, I located the bag and noticed that the transparent plastic changed in texture and started to look less transparent.

Apparently, these clear plastic accessories were never designed for longevity.

About as delicious as Krusty brand Jagged-Os, with a free metal Jagged-O in every box.

But that does suck about them ruining the actual figure. I guess the blast effects for my Jetfire will stay in the baggie.

Odd. The cyberverse ones I hadn't even considered and left them in pretty much from day one. I was just messing with one 2 days ago and I didn't notice any difference and nothing was left behind as it were. I'll have to check the others when I get home, if there are any.

Soft plastics and hard plastics really don't like to touch each other...

As the Cyberverso figure are a different type hard plastic, I would consider that the type of plastic would make a difference.

Maybe harder type would take a lot longer to have issues, or even not at all.
