Amazon Pre-Order Price Match Question - Cybertron.CA - Canadian Transformers News and Discussion

The short of it:
Looking to see if someone here has received a pre-order price match on an item that has yet to ship out.

Did you get your invoice adjusted automatically and within 24 hours? Did you get the adjustment at shipping or before shipping?

Context:
April - pre-order rodimus prime for $119. Over the next couple months I use amazon gift cards and apply it to the pre-order till it reaches a zero balance owing.

Aug 14 - rodimus goes on sale for $108, i screen shot it. Contact CS with online chat, CS insists that the price adjust happens at shipping. I screen shot this convo.

Aug 16 - rodimus goes on sale for $96, i screen shot it.

I read pre-order price match policy, it says it gets adjusted within 24 hours.Wait till next day.

My April order still doesn't reflect the price change from Aug 14 at this point.

Aug 17 - contact CS in chat, copy/paste the policy and ask if its true that i get it in 24 hours, CS confirms yes. I say I need an adjustment, all of a sudden the price match is now in 3-5 business days. I screen shot the convo.

I hope you can see why I feel like im getting the run around.

I also ordered a rodimus at each of those price drops for further proof cause amazon is being really shifty with me right now.

Amazon Japan automatically adjust preorder price to the lowest. i think Canada used to have it but I haven't seen it for long time. Did you see a preorder price guarantee when you placed those orders?

guarantee is covered on the site and CS both confirm it's a thing except both CS give information that contradicts the listed policy found on the site.

The 6th business day from the $98 sale price is next monday so that's when i'll go back and make a big stink of things if it doesn't adjust.

As is I got about $25+ in Amazon credit to reclaim as I used gift cards to pay it down already.

thanks username. could you possibly share your screenshot of the $95.94 price?

/edit.. bah CS won't adjust mine because its not considered a pre-order, just a normal order. I just placed mine a few days ago at the 108 price. Oh well, worth a shot.

it doesn't show the message Items eligible for the Pre-Order Price Guarantee. this is the automatic price adjustment that will lower the price without contact CS.

My original preorder in April for Rodimus via wishlist, CS would not adjust the the order. Claimed it was a buy it now, and not a pre-order so no price guarantee.

When the price dropped to $95 yesterday I just made a new order and cancelled the original. Which works better for me since I had promo credits from Amazon for cancelling my Coneheads!

My original order finally had a ship date of end of Aug - Sept 15, sadly the new one doesn't yet.

At this point its a race between my cancelled TRU pre-order which they promise they will honor in store or this Amazon order.

UGH .... can I just get my Roddy please

Though it could easily be wrong info because amazon customer service is a giant mess, but last year I ordered a funko pop that changed price prior to release and when I didn't get a price adjustment on my order. I went back to customer service to ask about that after a prior rep had promised me it would adjust upon shipping/release and was told that the first rep never should've made that promise because toys are not part of the pre-order price guarantee. I got it because of the promise by the first rep, but apparently wasn't supposed to.
