I was reading that the pre-installed screen protector is an anti-shatter layer that doesn't protect well against scratches, so I decided I needed one. I was reading the unbranded versions come with an additional one in the box but unfortunately the ones you get on a phone contract do not. Oh well, paid the $20+ and hopefully it's a worthwhile investment. Considering they'll replace the protector for $5 if I hold on to the receipt, I figure it will be.
That's interesting. Hadn't heard that before about it being an anti-shatter layer. Either way an additional layer of protection is always good and $20 is a reasonable price for screen protection. I am just going from my experience with my old Xperia X10 that I had for 3 years and the phone bricked before I got a scratch on the screen . Guess it all depends on how hard one is on their phone. Either way I know you will like the phone. I am really enjoying the upgrade from my old X10.

Nice. I'm glad it's reliable. My last one was an x10 mini. The screen got scratched really easily and then cracked, so maybe I'm a little paranoid. I ended up replacing the screen myself for cheap, but I know it wouldn't be so easy for this one. Definitely enjoying the upgrade though. That mini was still running but so slow, even though I rooted it and removed all the bloatware. It was just really outdated and not a powerful phone to begin with.
