Has anyone ever ordered directly from Takara? How was the experience? DId you get nailed with customs?

TTM only ships to Japanese address.
Also MP-11T has long been sold out on TTM.
EDIT: Takara MP-11T is a limited edition of 2000 units only.

there are shipping forward services like tenso. I've only read about them, never used.

The fine print on the TTMall listing for Thundercracker says it will also be available for sale in the Asia region outside of Japan, so I assume that means Hasbro Asia will eventually be offering it as well.

I've never dealt with the Takara Toy Mall, but I'm presuming it's something similar to the Bandai Tamashii Webshop.
Also keep in mind that, even with forwarding services like Tenso (whom I've used), I wouldn't be surprised if the TTM only takes Japanese credit cards, as the Bandai Webshop only takes JP CCs.
You would need a proxy buyer to buy and forward any purchases over to you here in Canada.
