classics omnibot overdrive
built from a old project.
this is essentially a classics sunstreaker, turned into classics redalert, then again into overdrive.
ever since the hasbro version came out, this project was removed from the display shelf and returned to the bash bin.
back to the bot, mods are - headlights removed and cavities filled and sanded.
- spoiler chunks remove and holes and indents filled and sanded.
- almost 3/16 of an inch were ground of,filled then sanded in order to allow him to stand upright with his legs mistransformed to make him look different tha streaker and swipe.
- the original sunstreaker head was again modified from red alert's head into overdrives.alot of grinding down and sandin and filling was used to get his head into this angular shape.
- a sliver cut and formed from a cd case forms his head visor.
- rocket pods were salvaged from a cybertron armorhide(small blue coe semi),cut down, flattened out underneath and fused into his rear bumper halves to give him some hidden weaponry ala g1.
- his crotch has been switched around, along with some mixing and matching going on with his arm.(left with right, right with left, etc).
- alot of his details on his legs were simplified back to good old fashion blockyness with some more skim coat and sanding.
- to give him a somewhat different front end in alt mode, vinyl was first hand cut and laid onto the primer before the top coat, giving his headlights and marker lights on his hood some added depth.
- his double blaster is a combination of cybertron landmine's gun and some lego bits.the single cannon is a mix of cybertron defense force redalerts claw weapon mount and the cannon from classics onslaught's arm.
nuff blah blah,pics...
with the lower leg mod, this is what the roof ends up looking like.
with one of his good buddies

Re: classics omnibot overdrive
...this was a Sunstreaker originally...why didn't you just start with a Sideswipe and save yourself from an entire paint job?!
YOU'RE STILL A MAD MAN!

Re: classics omnibot overdrive
I thought of doing something similar but with a windcharger as a base. BUT THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!
I can't get over how you got a flight mode out of him.
I really like how you filled in the 'vent' parts on his thighs. Give a really 'robot' feel. If that makes sense.
