Re: why was raiden never released in america?
this one was the cheapest ko possible, no stickers, very limited paint apps (only on the side of the trains, not very well done either) i'm planning on painting the stickers on it (i do a lot of miniatures painting) i just wanted to see how it combined, and transformed

Re: why was raiden never released in america?
I think a more pertinent question may be "Why wasn't raiden ever released ON America?" Hmm.

Yeah, that's pretty much the worst KO I've ever seen. The plastic is weak, pieces break off at a feather touch, and you need to get out the hobby knife before they even combine properly.
I still bought one for myself, though. And I agree with everything in the OP.

Yes, this is the worst TF gestalt KO every made. They have taken out some of the pose-abilities of the individual trainbot from the original when they made this. For instance, I have one of the arms (the green passenger/transit train) from the original Takara Diaclone series and the arms on this guy can swing up and down, whereas the KO cannot. G1 figures from Diaclone already suffered from lack of pose-ability and they made it worst Not to mention all the mini-blasters that the individual trainbots have are all gone from the set.

Re: why was raiden never released in america?
the arms on this fig do move, the plastic is a little more durable than that, but joints are loose, and some of the parts look like they hadn't finished being formed when they were released from the mold, the bottom of one of the feet was a short shot, and the weapons and arms are warped. but it looks alright combined, you're right about the hobby knife though, lol. i'll buy the real one when i get an influx of cash

Yeah there was 2 versions I have encountered personally. One came in a box with pitted bubble and another came on a large cardback with bubble. I don't know which was the one with the stickers, I own the original only.
