well again that depends man; you don't need money to have fun.

...okay let me rephrase that, you DO need money to eat and whatnot, and maybe a little for fun, but otherwise however much yer bringing will not impact your experience at all.

xD course listen to who's talking...I plan to bring 1500 to 2000 if my job pays me well enough |D

One of my main goals in this Con is to get a bigger haul...around more than 10 toys, tops.Of course,I would love to have more than enough for commissions and other stuff that are around the Dealer's Room....but....my sister needs to eat -_-

I set my limit at $300 and then without even blinking dropped a G-note.

Bring cash, and plenty of it.

Got to agree with TGDP here.
Take myself last year, I took $200. I picked up everything I was looking for, plus a few extra things.
And still walked out with $50 in my pocket.

Your cash on hand also depends on your self control. The local ATM's will run out of cash very fast, so you need to plan ahead, but still be reasonable; keep enough money to pay for the next day and food and your train ride home!!

I routinely bring about $500 and return home with $150; having more than you think you need is convenient cause you never know what lifetime deal/toy you may find.

I learned that the hard way last year.Spent $100 in less than 5 minutes in the Dealer's Room.

Re: Going to TFCon Toronto for the first time...

I am a good example on how NOT to handle money at a con. The Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo, which has far fewer TF dealers than TFCon (they had 2!) lol

*takes out too much cash before the show*
*goes into TF overload*
next thing you know I am on the phone with my bank saying "Umm, yeah... hey. could you guys up my withdraw limit? I'm kinda in a pickle."

And thats how I ended up with an MIB Trypticon, Blaster, Superion, and some other stuff.

Luckily for my Bank Account, I can only buy what I can safely package in my luggage.
