Re: Transformers Animated (TFA)

I never watched the cartoon and can't say that I like the look of the toys but you make such a compelling case above that you may have convinced me to watch a few episodes of the show to see how I like it.

My TFA Wreckgar is one of the very few figures I regret selling.

I will say it takes a bit to get going. It's fine to start if nothing particularly compelling. But by the end of season 1, it really takes shape. I tried it, shrugged, and moved on.

Hell, just START with the transwarped three partner that opens season 3. It's so awesome you'll want to go back. That's when I became a FAN and started scooping up the toys. Many of which are joys to play with.

Agreed. Season 1 was slow and kinda childish, introducing all the characters. But it slowly builds, and when Megatron comes in, it all gets more epic.

That's it. Megatron has a head is OK.

Actual Megatron kicking ass, ruining starsceam, corrupting the constructicons... Yes.

Re: Transformers Animated (TFA)

I never liked the aesthetic of the toys, especially the head sculpts. Some of the toys were good, but a little too faithful to the cartoon, which I did not care for. The visual style was too "Teen Titan" for my liking. As for the story: I found that it took more than "a bit" to get going. I'd argue that it was only interesting at the very end.
I maintain that TF:Prime has been my favourite cartoon.

Re: Transformers Animated (TFA)

I really appreciate how clever the TFA toys are and how well they capture the aesthetic of the show. Are they perfect? No. Scale is completely random, there is unnecessary partsforming on some of them, and you can point to several examples where the alt mode or the bot mode was a swing and a miss. But I've enjoyed each and every one I own.

Agreed, Animated is the line that got me back into collecting and is the line that I just can't let go. I love the aesthetics of it.

Re: Transformers Animated (TFA)

Your image show#s a giant "members only" graphic dude.

It's funny because I couldn't stand prime.

It was teen Titans because many of the teen Titans team worked on TFa lol. All good if it isn't you're thing. I love that it has a distinct visual style.

It got the shaft, really. The show aired for months before toys even came out. Then it was cancelled so fast. There seasons in a year and a half, not three years. The toys were delayed because of movie 1shit and then it was all crushed for rotf.

It's the toys we DIDN'T get that suck. No constructicons, especially. I have Takara blackout and huge shame he wasn't given a bigger release.
