Yup, so do i. "It's your captain calling......." drives me nuts but makes it super easy to hang up. At least it isn't a human behind that who tries to sell you something and keeps going on and on and you don't want to be rude etc.
I think for these automated ones, by getting you to press "3" or whatever number to "win" the prize it authorizes them to do stuff to your account or start to charge you exorbitant fees for airtime.

Because we love it! Ha just kidding, we hate it and we hate it with a vengeance but what can we do?
Problem with Vancouver here, is that we get things late and the latter waves don't always come out and when they do, they come out in short supply. Unfortunately we've got a pretty large collector community and hence there isn't enough for all of us and often times we're going to get screwed. You simply don't know with certainty that you're going to eventually get what you want.
Factor that in, then factor in gas for hunting and it's beginning to not be that positive for buying local. Don't get me wrong, i love to go to TRU and shop but they are too slow, too expensive.
I always resisted but i finally caved into ordering online from the USA frequently. Yes, the shipping is a tad bit more and it may make individual figures almost as expensive as the Canadian prices but at least i saved on the uncertainty, the gas prices and my time.
