I used to create custom figures for heroclix and gijoe, this past year I have just started to get in to customizing transformers for my collection. I'm not the best painter by any means, but I think they look good enough for my shelf, lol.
Instead of posting a bunch of threads for each custom, I think I'll just post all my work in this thread.

To start things off I post some pics of a figure I have been working on for a little while. I don't think I'll get the real deal because I have no intention on spending $1000 for a figure...my wife would kill me, lol.
Here is a WIP of one of my favourite figures:

Fortress Maximus WIP
Body:
-Transformers Cybertron Metroplex that cost me $12.00 US (15 CAN) on ebay.
painting it to resemble The G1 toy of Fort Max

Head:
-Used the face of an old G1 Metroplex's head that I
found in a bag of broken TFs at value village.
-For spike I used an old headmaster Duros from the
same value village bag
-Spikes arms are from a broken micromaster Spaceshot figure
and his legs are from an extra "star saber" minicon figure from armada.
-built up the heads structure with vinal siding
scraps, painting spike to resemble G1 counterpart.
(decided to go with spike instead of Cerebros
because I was a fan of the Marvel comics and cerebros was pretty incosequential in them)
-Head mount made from parts from the wrecking ball from an old C.O.P.S criminal figure. (they were like 7 inch GIJOEs)

Guns:
-forearm mounted blasters care of The Visions
sidekick (bug) figure from the long dead "avengers
animated series) painted them red. I would have
prefered the guns to be on the top of the forearm
but a minicon port there would not work in vehicle
or base mode. I'll have to make due.
-leg mounted cannons is a busted gun from that
same bag of goodies (originally from micromaster
figure Roughstuff's trailer) barrels painted red.

More work needed, still other projects in the works
-targermaster Galvatron (made from universe
Cyclonus' Nightstick)
-My own Superion add on kit
-Animated shockwave's hand blaster
(looking like action master shockwave's blaster)
-KO classic voyager Megatron to resemble the
"All hail Megatron version"
