No thanks to Amazon or Hasbro, I can tell you that much....which is a bit ridiculous if you ask me. I have not heard of anyone else having my particular QC issue so hopefully it is a one off but still good to be aware of.
It was resolved with another local collector, a good dude. It will be off a CW Wheeljack actually, but a touch of Metalic red will fix that silver rim easy enough, not a big deal since I have Metalic red here anyway. In exchange, it costs me nothing but a little of my time as he asked me if I could try repairing a couple figures for him. One is an animated Bee whose shoulder socket cracked, should be easy enough after I rebuilt the door wing sockets for Classics Smokescreen. The other might be more challenging - an Optimus, I wanna say Energon, whose chest opens and there is a white tip on top an bottom of the chest hinge, one of those white tips is gone. I have a couple ideas in mind to try but no promises on that one. If anyone else has a repair idea for that part, I'm all ears. Basically, I'm trading a bit of labor for the part I need.
