Re: The Guardian Interview With James Roberts
I love James Roberts's writing on MTMTE. But in interviews, he has a disturbing habit of not crediting his artists on the book unless it's Nick Roche, or if the interviewer specifically asks. It can't be underestimated how much personality Alex Milne and others brought to the characters through their detailed, expressive artwork.
And to demonstrate just how crucial the art is in telling the story, observe how Livio Ramondelli pretty consistently ruins any TF book he works on. Sorry to Livio or his fans, but I buy those issues with my nose firmly pinched and I bull my way through mainly reading the speech bubbles while trying not squint too hard at all those dark, muddy panels.
