on the movie insecticons i did in 08,certain areas specifically "rub" points,i used black permanent markers then coated them with krylon satin clear.as long as you dont pound it on initially and just mist spray it first,it won't bleed on you.stay away from automotive grade clear though,the reducers in it totally bleed the permanent marker no matter how thick/thin you spray it(found that out the hard way
