Its a fair use of the Wheeljack mold. This doesnt mean much to G1 fans, myself included, but a lot of people love the original Exhaust toy. (Im answering to the fears of others, not you Sir prime) And dont forget Tigertrack and Silverstreak were not G1 either. Exhaust is just another Diaclone. Like I said on TFW Exhuast is to wheeljack what Smokescreen was to Prowl. Let Takara do their thing, they need to justify the mold by making repaints.
EDIT: Also, i found this "The deco is based on a Diaclone retool of the toy that would one day become Wheeljack". There ya go, its like giving thanks to what made Wheeljack what he is today.
