Honestly it's really hard to get the true colour in a photo. The official pictures made it look way too bright. For the LEGO fans out there it's similar to pearl gold. Much like the LEGO colour, it's not a uniform tone, it's variable under brighter lights which give it a slight luster. The die cast on the other hand is metallic gold paint, really well done.
