So, are these pre-order extras only for the console versions of the games?
I'll be getting the PC version at some point, probably won't pre-order. mainly, the multiplayer support for these games on PC are crap, since they don't interconnect to the console versions. Guitar Hero 3 for PC had like a total of 2 people to network with and play online.
On the other hand, with some file manipulation, all these pre-order bonus character models will be accessible bin the PC version.
When you think about it, every copy of this game will have every playable pre-order character within. That way everyone can actually see that character model when playing. What the pre-order does is merely swap a bit or something that lets you select that character. Its like buying a car but because you didn't pre-order it you don't get the button to turn on the air conditioning, despite the fact that its installed.
