I prefer clear nail polish over Future for tightening joints. It seems to add a thicker layer. Just let it dry on both ends before you press them together.

If it's held in by a pin: hammer and pliers or soldering iron. Never done it myself, though.

I've actually been playing around and using RID Optimus Prime's sword as a guinea pig. I can even mix the metal medium with Tamiya and it looks good.
