If you can remove the head and mask off the area you don’t wanted painted, krylon fusion for plastic would likely be a good option.
Light coats, with like 30 minutes between each coat should work...

What I'd suggest to do to start is just to make some practice runs at things. Get different paints, try out some painting on dollar store Transformers, then get more ambitious as you go.

In my limited experience I've found that Krylon brushes on quite smooth(just spray it inot an empty butter container or the like), but I suck with water based acrylics and such.

I'd at least take as much of it apart as you can. Most legs, arms and the like will pop off.
Brush paining is tricky. I find that spraying Krylon fusion into a plastic container and then brushing...

Thanks Noodle.Spray paint for the yellow and just a brush for some of the purple. The head was from a KO transforming dinosaur I picked up at biglots in the states. I cut some parts of the head off...
