Try a diluted isop alcohol/water mix with a q-tip and a rag at hand. Dip the qtip in your solution, dab it on the black sparingly, and immediately wipe it off with the rag.

The paint is Tamiya. I used TS-54 (light metallic blue) for these guys.

Very nice! You've really brought out the detail on him.
I also typically use Tamiya, top-coated with a high-gloss (non-Tamiya) lacquer, and have found them to be very durable on all my Alt and MP...
