Buyer trying to scam me or am I just being paranoid?

Last night I sold a Jurassic park figure on ebay (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/JURASSIC-PARK-THE-LOST-WORLD-BULL-T-REX-with-SURVIVAL-POD-JP28-29-034-/281668243745?), and this morning I woke up to this message:

"Hello, I purchased this item from you using my Pay Pal account. I didn t realise I had an old echeck account on there which pal pal used to buy this item. So I added a credit card to my account but it won t let me cancel the order to reorder on my credit card. I m not sure what to do now. I would still like to purchase the item. Thank you."

A few things threw up some reds flags to me. While the buyer has a feedback of 10, the account hasn't seen any activity for more than a year. Then there's the e-check matter. While the transaction amount appears in my paypal, I've read that echecks can take a few days to clear. I'm concerned they might be trying to work an angle that way.

I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered anything similar, or knows more on these matters, or just share some thoughts or views. I'm relatively new at selling on ebay, and a few outside opinions would be welcome.

Thank you

Seems simple or am I missing something. If the money (e-cheque) clears, send it. If not, don't send. He has to prove he paid for it.

Just wait for it to clear.

I agree with Multiplex. If the e-check clears send it. If it doesn't then don't. If you're comfortable with them not trying to scam you, then tell the purchaser that you're re-listing the item and they can try to purchase again with a valid payment type.
