Great Review,
By the looks of it, the HotRod is the retool version released under the Tak/Tomy Transformers United line.
The engine block had a port sticking out of it for the Minicon/Target Master campaign.

An interesting fact that might save all of you some money. The human eye cannot see in 4k UHD.

Off topic I know, but advertising something that way won't make the image any more clear than a 1080p HD Screen or photo.

I was lucky enough to review it, but I never bought the set. Sticking with my RTS custom Hot Rod and Wreck Gar. I agree it is quite over priced. The paint IS premium and looks great in hand, but not worth it for me. Nice if you have the scratch, surprisingly so, but I agree, hard to swallow that expensive pill. Also, it IS very similar to the United one for sure and you are right about the engine block.
