Do you ever buy a figure only because everyone wants it?
 

The latest "crazes" over MP Grimlock and Animated Rodimus makes me wonder about something. Are our fellow TF members buying them because they like them or because everyone else is getting them? I embarrassed to admit that I "jumped on the bandwagon" at least once - namely Toys R Us Re-issue Soundwave. Who else here is guilty of this "type of conduct" ?

Not I, I only collect what I like/want and stick to specific series. G1/Clasuniverations and Animated.

Not yet, but I have given a figure more than a second look because it was a hot item. I keep thinking "what am I missing?"

But so far I have not succumb.

Yes, I've purchased an animated Arcee and animated Rodimus. I've left them both in box for now...because they're the only animated figures I own, so I'm not completely sold on them yet...

I figure I could always just display the two of them together.

But I really try hard not to buy something just because others like it.

I try not to buy something just because it's the hottest new thing on the block. But that doesn't mean I'm not tempted. I've so far suppressed the urge to go out and get MP Grimlock because I already have the Takara version as well as Animated Arcee, Rodimus and Ironhide because I'm just not that into the animated toys even though I love the series.

I usually hear other opinions from Youtube reviews on what figure to buy because I dont want to invest in crappy toys or know Iam not going to like. about the animated figures, I have been a fan since they got released, until later people started liking the toys, when they started looking up pictures

I kinda did it with the Seacons. And I kinda regret it but I can kinda live with it too. Kinda.

Sometimes, but that's why I wait a day before I open any figure I buy.
