"And The Firewalls Came A-Tumblin' Down" (G1 cartoon universe)
 

The idea for this story - finally a full-length one, rather than the short first-person character monologues - originally started in my mind back in the late '90s, and after several evolutionary changes with the premise, I finally got the juices flowing for a cohesive plot. For this work, it features not only my customary toy photos as illustrations, but also YouTube links to "soundtrack" tunes to go with select scenes in this story.

I hope to upload later chapters in the near future, and also hope they won't take too long to write. For now, I present to you the prologue as an appetizer.

Premise: As the Autobots prepare plans for a top-secret project, the Decepticons invade the World Wide Web with the ultimate hacker code: Soundwave's mind itself! The Autobots must take a high-risk measure to prevent the Decepticons from breaching Teletraan I's systems, stealing valuable international secrets, and exploiting the entire digital realm.

It's taken a while largely due to real-world things and creativity struggles, but I've finally completed the first "true" chapter of this story after uploading the Prologue three months ago. To wit:

Summary of Part 1: "Login / Password" - With the Ark's security at maximum, the Autobots ferry a respected officer from Cybertron for a series of meetings about a top-secret project. Unable to break through the Autobots' newly-upgraded defenses, Soundwave proposes an experimental but potentially dangerous method that may help the Decepticons learn the Autobots? secrets.

Finally got the next chapter of this story completed and uploaded!

Summary of Part 2: "Loading..." - On a guided tour of the Ark, Ultra Magnus informs Optimus Prime about the Autobots' combat situation on Cybertron. He meets Wheeljack, who has invented an upgrade for the Ark?s recreation centre.

Been a couple months, but a new chapter has been completed and uploaded!

Summary of Part 3: "GOTO" - As the Autobots begin their meetings for their top-secret project, the Decepticons complete their new web satellite and must place it in orbit without the Autobots? knowledge.

Whew... this chapter has been the hardest one to write so far, because of the descriptive detail needed for its main scene. But now, we finally get to the core of Soundwave's proposed mission.

Summary of Chapter 4: "Input/Output" - With preparations in place, Soundwave embarks on his first test mission to upload his mind into the World Wide Web.

This latest chapter took a lot of effort (especially to upload and format correctly), but glad the story is progressing well thus far.

Summary of Chapter 5: "Run Program" - A clash of attitudes breeds dissension between Ultra Magnus and Blaster, but a Decepticon attempt to steal a top-secret formula from a tech factory piques the suspicions of both the Autobots and their human allies. After several successful cyber-raids, Soundwave is ready for the primary aim of his ventures.
