Wow, beautiful scuplt. 20cm isn't a bad size, either!

Almost done mine. Been chipping away at it this past week. It's great. no glue needed. It just snaps together!

I ran out of white a few weeks ago so I am printing in Black. Should be fine when painted, or maybe Nemesis Prime him. I got the head done and snaps right in. Working on the chest.
What printer do you have?
I have the Dremel 3D40.

I have access to a 3D printer at work so I might give this a go. What material are y'all using?

Re: 3-D printed poseable Optimus Prime

I ended up printing mine quite a bit larger than my brain mathed the sizing... Also had to start in black because I didnt have white, then when I ran out of black my order for white came in.
I may try to redo it in proper size as well since my other order with different colours is also in.

I have the Dremel so it uses PLA.

I have a makerbot replicator+. I used pla. I have all the colours, so it looks good. Needed to shave a few parts, but otherwise it just snaps together! No glue needed.

Love it! I’ve been wanting a printer but I know I won’t get the use out if it...no shop space either. Keep up the good work

Finally printed this out. Mix of Makerbot Rep2 and Ultimaker 2+. Using pla.

I'm about 50% through printing this figure. I love the sculpt, but I'm finding that the fitment is really loose. Are you guys experiencing this too? Also, I seem to have odd rough patches in my prints sometimes. I'm new to 3D printing, so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong - you guys have any advice? Oh and I'm printing in PLA and using a prusa printer.

Elbows and hips were loose on mine. Hips I just shoved in some tissue papers to stiffen it up. Elbows...I figure I might use some Futures in there or something. White tissue paper in red joint would look bad.

I'm really surprised more G1 parts aren't being 3D printed.. like combiner hands and feet. They would make great temp parts, while waiting to acquire real ones.

Re: 3-D printed poseable Optimus Prime

It looks pretty good. Recently I bought a new 3D printer from www.mrdepot.ca which I am going to use for costumes made of plastic. I will make different things like Iron Man costume, or those from G.I.Joe and many many others. Now, I need to find good quality materials because I want to make the plastic thick enough in order to be difficult to crush it. If you know where I can buy good colors and materials, I will be very glad. I hope that I will do everything perfectly and I will start to sell them.
