generations legends bumblebee and blazemaster review

another quickie review, this time on generations 2pack bumblebee and blazemaster.

a decent legends fig, deceivingly big in alt mode,
which looks like a cross between the alt modes of legends bumblebee/goldbug v.1 and the deluxe wfc bumblebee.decent head sculpt.

pros=
  • nice g1cartoon/idw head sculpt
  • his partner really evokes a g1 actionmaster nod when he acts as a helicopter/backpack on bb's bot mode back.
  • almost all paint/detail lines are crisp and straight.
  • blazemaster can be used in both of bb's modes.
  • decent articulation for his size.
cons=
  • pretty important one....it seems that his bot mode fists have been drilled out slightly too big, resulting in it being a total pain to get him to hold/pose a gun/weapon properly.(i've even tried other weapons from other bots and same thing, too loose)when blazemaster is being held,he has a tendency to flop/spin around.when he's on bb's roof in alt mode he's just a touch loose, nowhere near as bad as bb's alt mode hands.
  • the drivers side rear/bot mode upper right shoulder wheel keeps falling out when you look at it funny, almost like there's not enough plastic "meat" there.
  • blazemaster has to have the helicopter tail stick out horizontally at a funny angle in order for him not too stare at the sky.
  • when removing the helicopter rotor from the back of blazemaster it feels like you're going to snap off the blades themselves.
with rotf legends bb,both in alt mode to show sizing.

to transform blazemaster, fold his whole lower half of heli mode down on the hinges.flip the tail rotor 90 degrees'push the gun handle/heli front gun up and back.done.

combined modes

yes,the helicopter pack can be lifted so it looks like an old school helipack,it just sticks out waaaay too far imho and it makes bb really back heavy.

final thoughts,
another yellow bot to the sea of bee's.
he fits in better as a wfc/foc scaled bee for the wfc/foc deluxes by hasbro so far(the first deluxe wfc bb mold is too big for the regular foc line imo).

Neat review man.

I'm interested in picking this up for the sake of the
Micromaster itself. Start a micromaster in my classic's collection.

Re: generations legends bumblebee and blazemaster review

thanks:)

that would be slick if they redid alot of the original micromaster sets as but with classics level articulation/proportions.(yeah,in my books the a/e/c styled minicons don't count as micromaster redo's either:p)

can't wait till this set fully hits the stores up here so i can snag another one to make fulltilt:D
the alt mode is almost perfect for it,although bot mode could take some work to make it less round and more square.

Nice review Chans. I'm on pins and needles waiting for these legends figs to show up in my area. I really hope Hasbro repaints Bee into Cliffjumper so I can have the two for my WFC/FOC shelf. Like you said, the deluxe versions of them are just too big. Heck, I wouldn't mind seeing Glyph either.
