upgraded cw optimus prime

another commish from a local member.
he provided the shapeways add ons(tfw's jonbonhamatron) ,so all I had to do was repaint the pieces to match.
the kit pieces he chose was the helmet/head,chest,leg extensions and combiner head "ears".
the pieces themselves have gone through a longer than normal paint process because of the "lines" in shapeways printing process.
each piece was sanded, clearcoated, sanded, clearcoated, sanded, paint ed,sanded, painted again, then finally clearcoated again.
the chest has had fillers/weight added to it on the backside.
optimus's legs were cracked open,and filled/weighted too.
his toes were capped on the bottom, then filled too.
the back side of his wheels have been filled also.
the stock g1-ish rifle that came with prime has been modded and weighted too, just to help match prime's new size.
minor paint apps were also added to optimus like the yellow on his forearms, certain areas of blue like his hips, etc.
I really do like this kit so far.....night and day proportionally....
as the commissioner is basically going to just pose him and put him on his prime shelf display,i didn't bother with truck mode shots.
the only change is you have to remove the chest piece and his wheelbase is a touch longer.

an untouched cw prime...weighs 202grams...

this one now weighs 269-270 grams(mostly in the lower body for posability)

with a untouched prime to show the difference

I think the nicest parts of that toy are the modifications and paint that the OP has done to it. I would love to see what Chansformers can do with a better canvas. Maybe Cybertron Prime?

lolz,thanks.
but that cybertron prime mold is one I don't want to revisit for awhile.
I made a cybertron battle damaged nemesis prime from him and also used him for a classics combaticon onslaught which did combine into bruticus.it was the first time anyone attempted to use all voyagers for the limbs and a leader for the torso.

it does, though the chest plate and helmet must be removed.
the guy who designed the kit(jonbomhamatron on tfw) made it so that the leg extensions stay on,extending his wheelbase length in alt mode.he even made new tabs at the top of the new extensions which tab nto the same slots the tabs on the stock legs do into the arms in truck mode.
