Favourite year for transformers

Was wondering what year do you guys think was best for Transformers? Why was it for you, the character selection, a holy grail etc.

For me 2021 in recent memory was the best for transformers with the kingdom and studio series 86 line, it was absolutely incredible.

Probably 2010. The Revenge of the Fallen line had transitioned into the "Transformers" line, which focused less on the on-screen movie designs (which were terrible) and more on original movieverse designs (which were often great) and classic updates, but kept the same high engineering quality that was shown throughout the RotF line. The Reveal the Shield line also began at the tail end of that year, which was also pretty consistently high-quality.

The period between RotF and DotM was really the peak of Transformers as a toyline, particularly if you ignore any of the bots who actually appeared in the Bay films.

Well for vintage I'd say 1985, because that's when I actually started to understand how much I loved these things and could get them easily in stores. Rubsigns, decoys, combiners...yeah, it was all there ready to grab.

But second to that I'd say 2007-2008...basically the years where Classics and Animated were around (and the OG movie toys from around that time were pretty cool, IMHO).

2005. Cybertron/Galaxy Force were in full swing. Love that toyline so much

I really liked thrilling 30 cause you had a list of toys to collect.

I say right now...

Think about it... We can get all of the previous figures from all the previous years.

My favourite parts of Transformers are Beast Wars and the 86 movie, so the past year was pretty good for me with Kingdom and Studio Series 86.

At the same time it had some issues. A few of the new versions seemed inferior to old versions (I liked Generations Rhinox and Waspinator better than their Kingdom counterparts). There was also the price increases which were not welcome either.

I didn't pick up as much this year as some past years. After reaching 1500 figures, I've learned to be pickier. At the same time I did enjoy what I got and the majority of what I have on display currently is from the past year.

If I were to judge by when I bought the most figures I guess it would be around 2005 when Cybertron was out. I had basically every figure and still have a lot of them, but they aren't favourites.

As a kid it was probably 86. Just after the movie and season 3 was probably the peak for me as a kid getting Transformers; didn't get much after that for many years minus the odd Beast Wars figure in the 90's.
