Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri 04 Star Saber
 

What do you guys think of this upcoming release by Flame Toys? I think it looks amazing, a much more fearsome take on Star Saber.

At $400 US, the price is a bit too steep for me. There is another Star Saber being made by Planet X, PX-C02 Kadmos (the IDW version of Star Saber). That one seems to be a lot more affordable.

This initially struck me as a Gundam more than a Transformer.

Yeah, he definitely resembles some sort of Gundam or Chogokin robot. The size of the figure doesn't really match the price tag though. On BBTS, it says he's only 8.2 inches tall (kind of on the small side).

Pre-ordered at A3U. He'll go great with Drift and Tarn. Can't wait for Megatron, Optimus and Hot Rod next!

p.s.

We're all aware that Star Saber was designed by Kunio Okawara! The man who created such iconic giant robots like the original RX-78 Gundam, the Scopedog, and Gaogaigar. Every version of Star Saber ever has been compared to a Gundam. They all share some similar design elements because they were all created by the same designer but are really rather distinct.
