Kijiji or online sale ? - Pros & Cons
 

I just got back from doing a successful Kijiji deal & thought I might get your guyz input if you prefer to deal in person or do you prefer to just buy/sell online ?

For me personally I mostly prefer to buy/sell online. I do admit it sometimes feels sketchy meeting in person but it's also feels good putting faces to names.

What are you thoughts ?

I'm cool with either but i guess a face to face saves the time of packing and shipping

I've made a few sales through Kijiji this year, it's fun to chat with fellow Transformers fans face to face. And they almost always end up buying more than expected when they actually see all the toys I have for sale in person.

I do both. Between local and Cybertron I've sold piles from any one sales thread.

unfortunately my experience with kijiji has been that they are mostly lowballers or flaky, say they want something and then never return messages :(

For buying, I do either. What ever gets me what I want for the price I want, that's the avenue I'll choose.

For selling, I only do local in person deals. I just don't want to deal with packing and mailing and any issues that could arise. It certainly limits the market, but I'm patient, and I'm not in any desperate need to move stuff out.

As for the sketchiness of meeting, meh. I think people understand the craigslist deal culture now, so as long as the deal isn't happening in a back alley or in a darkened parking lot, I think people won't blink twice. I know I don't.

I think it's regional. I've had just fine experiences with Kijiji, for the most part, but once in a while I've had someone ghost me, bail on me, or altered the bargain.

I like Kijiji, since it eliminates shipping hassles and its cash in hand. That said, I’ve found that at least in my area Kijiji buyers are approximately 65% knuckle dragging derp bags. They either straight up never respond after the initial ‘is this still available’ message or just refuse to actually set up a time to make the sale. Or set a time and not show up. Derp bags. Grrrr...

I have bought 3 MP from kijii who also has a sale thread here i believe, good prices and all of them came with a coin.

As a kijiji seller who states "available if ad is up" nothing is more annoying or makes me a "knuckle dragging dirt bag" than when I see the default kijiji message:

Hi, I'm interested! Please contact me if this is still available.

Because it takes 5 seconds to alter the message to something else.

Can I get this Saturday?
Do you have instructions?
Might you have Con 2 to go with this Con 1?

Accomplishes the same thing (inquiry) without appearing lazy or having a reading comprehension issue. :)
