Your top Halloween movies?

As the title of the thread states...what are your favourite Halloween movies? Or just scary movies that you like to dust off for the Halloween season.

My all time favourite would have to be House. It's not a Halloween movie but it's a good "scary" movie that I've been watching since I was a kid. My #2 is Dawn of the Dead (crap my pants running zombie version)...because when there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.

I love watching The Creature from the Black Lagoon Trilogy around this time of year. I mean, it's one of the Universal Classic Monsters and what better time of year to watch the original Classic Monster? :D

I love to watch, and re-watch Near Dark. Best vampire movie evah (imo).

Plus its got Adrian Pasdar (Heroes) Bill Paxton, Lance Henriksen, and Jenette Goldstein (all from Aliens). Tim Thomerson (Trancers) and directed by Katheryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Point Break, Strange Days).

I'm with Cliffjumper and brr-icy.

Best traditions to introduce to my nieces are "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and "Ghostbusters."

(They never show it anymore, but Garfield's Halloween special was my favorite when I was very young.)

Near Dark's pretty good, but The Lost Boys is even better (or at the very least, more 80s).

Last year on halloween, we watched the Masters of Horror short films Cigarette Burns and Tales from the Witch House, which were both very good. And then we watched the abysmally bad Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter.

Not a big fan of Horror movies, but I do like the cartoon classics like Oasis had mentioned.

I also like watching Nightmare before Christmas, even though it could be more considered a Christmas movie...

Yeah, at least so far as Tim Burton was concerned. but he also thought it was okay to make Oswald Cobblepot half-man / half-penguin.

While my list is thin, I will go with Nightmare before Christmas

I fail to see how this is bad.

Wasn't scary, but the original Crow was set just before Halloween and it has a special place in my heart. Most of it's sequels...they're just 'special', but not in the same way. :)

Too may horror movies to list...

Honestly though, as much as I love Friday the 13th, I have to go with "Halloween" (John Carpenters - not that Rob Zombie dreck) being the best Halloween movie.

Halloween 3: Season of the Witch is a GREAT Halloween movie too. It's really a shame it got lumped into the Halloween series, it would have gone down as a Classic Horror movie if it had to be a stand alone film.

The 3rd one is actually a GREAT 80's Horror film. Too bad it got put into the Halloween franchise, people seem to universally hate the film because of this reason and not appreciate for what it is.

Cheers!

Too many to list for me; I actually like horror films.

The Exorcist, JuOn, the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead, Saw I, 28 Days Later, Frailty, etc...

Actually that was on YTV tonight, but it was kinda boring.

I like horror movies anytime of the year. It's The Simpson Halloween specials that I really like to watch, especially the older ones.

The Scream Trilogy. <3 It's shown either in part or its entirety, and I always make sure to catch it, somewhere.

Oh man, I love Wes Craven so much.

Halloween specials are good, too. Usually.
