Walmart Exclusive G1 Astrotrain Released in Canada
 

Thanks to reports from Ontario we now know that G1 Astrotrain has been released at Walmart. Thanks to Cybertron.ca member Longshot for the sighting.

Price is 69.99.

So I called Hasbro Canada today about the price jacking on all tfs especially g1 they told me G1 astrotrain is priced at msrp 49.99 so why is Walmart charging us 69 I told them we’re paying more for less cause the figures are being made smaller than usual so she took my name info what I called about and sent it to the transformers team.

I think that’s USD price cuz peeps south who reviewed him said it was $50 like siege leader price in US and A. G1 Soundwave was $69 CAD at Walmart too if I recall accurately when I saw him.

There is no way in hell that even after 30 years that this price isnt gouging...definitely a NO ....first optimus at a overinflated price for 1/2 a toy and now this trend to ripe off pricing....

Not from videos I've seen they are $39.97 USD in Walmart US.

That's the trend I dont see what the issue is.
The US walmart price is fair and it's a reduced price already.
Then let astrotrain clog shelves till they reduce price.

Found today in Ottawa. They were on the display originally used for the 35th anniversary figures along with Spinister, Crosshairs, Apeface and WFC Astrotrain.

There were only 4 of them and while I'm sure there will be restocks, I imagine this will last as long as Soundwave did. My guess is no price drop, but who knows what Wal Mart will actually do.

Found G1 Astrotrain and Seige Astrotrain at Keswick Walmart but they had a nice display stand at the Newmarket Walmart! Sadly my wallet has seen better days:(

Exactly, I never understand what's the rush and worry for the mainline stuff. You're going to get it eventually. Why pay $70 for nostalgia.

How can you have this tiny G1 triple changer on the shelf next to Siege Leader Astrotrain and charge the same price??

G1 Astrotrain should retail @ $20.00 USD / $30.00 CDN same as a DLX/Legend/Lightning/Black Series. In this day and age that seems "fair".

We can't put a price on nostalgia, I mean we can, but who are we to judge.

Transformers The Movie was released in 1986, so was did Top Gun, but this year Maverick is coming back so I'll probably go pay to see it in theatres. Rick Astley is still popular and Backstreet Boys concerts sell out full to women in their early 40's throwing larger underwear onto the stage, in Toronto, Leafs fans continue to purchase Doug Gilmour & Wendel Clark jerseys.

With respect to G1 toys, they aren't my thing, but like anything else, if you like it, see it, buy it, help out the economy & enjoy your purchase.

So glad I picked up G1 Astrotrain at Keswick Walmart because i was there again to pick up another for my friend and they are all gone! After my post they were sold out right away!!

I went around a few WM and TRS stores in Calgary but couldn't find a G1 or seige astrotrain anywhere. Are these on a limited run or just slow in getting stock?

Probably just the first wave of releases. Siege Astrotrain will be in Earthrise as well so no real worries there. G1 Astrotrain should more stock over the next couple months if it follows the same pattern as most of the other reissues.
