I don't quite get why the original TCC one is better, either. It was a great concept (marred by imperfect execution) for its time, don't get me wrong - but 10 years later, it's definitely an inferior take.
(Incidentally I just sold my TCC one this weekend. Still have the CW Counterpunch they did though; while he doesn't have the P/CP transformation it's just a really well executed exclusive of theirs and part of a combiner team.)

No thanks to Amazon or Hasbro, I can tell you that much....which is a bit ridiculous if you ask me. I have not heard of anyone else having my particular QC issue so hopefully it is a one off but still good to be aware of.
It was resolved with another local collector, a good dude. It will be off a CW Wheeljack actually, but a touch of Metalic red will fix that silver rim easy enough, not a big deal since I have Metalic red here anyway. In exchange, it costs me nothing but a little of my time as he asked me if I could try repairing a couple figures for him. One is an animated Bee whose shoulder socket cracked, should be easy enough after I rebuilt the door wing sockets for Classics Smokescreen. The other might be more challenging - an Optimus, I wanna say Energon, whose chest opens and there is a white tip on top an bottom of the chest hinge, one of those white tips is gone. I have a couple ideas in mind to try but no promises on that one. If anyone else has a repair idea for that part, I'm all ears. Basically, I'm trading a bit of labor for the part I need. |

What combiner team did you make him part of? It's funny, when I contacted Hasbro about the missing tire part and listed off all the times that mold has been used it struck me that even the red version had already been used, on a Counterpunch figure no less. I was curious though, is the red on that one the same as the red on the new one? |
