Has anyone else received an email from Toyhax regarding their new discount policy?
Looks like they are doing away with Black Friday sales

The new Robopoints system gets you rewards points @ (so far) 10% of your purchase price

Announcement:

As of 2020, we no longer offer random reduced pricing or Black Friday sales. We still want to make sure our customers can get some good deals, though, so we've added two new ways to save on your toyhax purchases!

ROBOVOUCHERS:

When you purchase from qualifying categories, you will earn Robopoints! At any later date, you can convert your Robopoints into a redeemable Robovoucher to apply to your next order.

NEWEST PRODUCT IS ALWAYS ON SALE:


From this point on, as we release new product, we will make sure we're well stocked, and we'll list it at a high discount. With each subsequent release, the discount will be slightly reduced. This will help keep our most current product in the affordable range.

I liked waiting for sales and making a big purchase. Limits shipping costs. Unfortunately this change probably means I will be less likely to make future purchases. These are fun additions when on sale.

Do I get a permanent "super special" discount for being the one to suggest labels to change eye colour? :)

My take is that they wanted to see people ordering throughout the year for a steady sales, instead of a few big, mad dash during those sales events. If their incentive program and introductory discounts are good I don’t see a problem.

What's the quality of the adhesive like on reprolabels? Would these peel overtime?

Mostly excellent. I have a few tiny corners that have lifted up but mostly they are high quality and very well done. Never regretted a purchase. Always little alternatives in each set too.

With BF sales gone, 50% is prob never coming back

The newest label sets since the announcement were posted @ 30% - I hope 40% isn't a thing of the past now as well

I feel it will be tougher to backfill labels for older lines - practically all CW & TR sets are at full price, sounds doubtful they will see any reduction again (beyond using robopoints to lower them)

US pricing plus this now, may end up resorting all label purchases to TFCon in-person

The reason I don't shop all year round is because of the US pricing. How am I supposed to gather "Robopoints" to get a discount when the problem is that I have to generally spend almost twice as much as the posted price due to the shitty exchange rate?

It makes more sense to use the Robopoints to encourage more Canadian buyers during the regular year by keeping the sales which would allow us to accumulate the points to use during the non sale periods.
