Unique Toys R-01 PERU KILL (3rd Party AOE Lockdown)

I've seen prototype pictures of Unique Toys AOE Lockdown from before and their Optimus a few days ago, and was skeptical an accurate movie bot mode could be done. Having watched the review, wowowowow! Totally preordered both.

im amazed by the way they did this transformation. comb8ned with the pictures of unique toys movie optimus and the alien attack pictures of dino and the recent releases of mpm bumblebee and optimus ver. 1, i think were on the verge of a new wave of mp scale and quality movie accurate robots for the next while.
the movie may be crap on soggy toast but the designs where always interesting.

That is some impressive engineering. I was wondering where all the panels went. I like that the panels don't just become kibble (even if it was folded creatively), but functional parts of the body and armor. I'm glad I preordered one...the movie sucked balls but this figure is awesome.

Got the Peru Kill on Friday and after a few days of messing with it, I feel pretty confident in saying this is the best transforming toy I've ever messed with. It is Takara MP level of engineering and sophistication. Every step is clean and intuitive. The instructions are really bad, had to refer back to the video review, though.

It boggles the mind that in vehicle mode, not-lockdown is slightly bigger than MPM Bumblebee, and in robot mode he is very slightly shorter than MPM Optimus.

The head has limited rotation and the shins don't lock in. Both issues are caused by aesthetic choices and not engineering limitations, but the good far far outways the bad.

WOW. This is an amazing transformation -- non-kibbly, non-panely, looks picture perfect in both modes, and somehow mass shifts to stand nearly head-to-head with MPM-04.

Hard to imagine HasTak could top this with an official figure.

The mass shifting transformation is ingenious. Bot mode looks spectacular. Barely any kibble if any. Glad to see Unique Toys produce an awesome figure. I like it when 3P companies succeed.

Couldn't care less for bay universe TFs, but I'm blown away by the reviews for this guy.
