Good news for Canadian Generation 1 fans. TFW2005 Boards member rahill has found the new Walmart Exclusive G1 Minibot Reissues In Canada. G1 Bumblebee and Swerve were spotted at a Walmart in Calgary, Canada for $11.97 CAD.

Ahh yes Woolco ... before Walmart was in Canada. Thats where I bought the majority of my toys along with Consumers Distributing.. $2 now we have completely aged ourselves. And with that memory Hasbro and nostalgia steals more money out of my wallet. Nice!

I still remember going into a Sears Toys liquidation and there were nothing but G1 Transformers and GI Joe throughout the store. Remember getting the Deluxe Insecticons for $5 each and Metroplex for $30. Man those were the days.

Oh, that photo! Thanks for that, boy that brings out my inner 10 year olds' boyhood memories.

I too got most of my transformers from Sears and they did indeed have an awesome toy section back then. It often looked just like your image. Is it just me and my nostalgia goggles or is that old school packaging just more eye catching and interesting than the modern stuff?

Best clearance deals, from yesteryear, I remember was getting Jetfire for $15 at Eaton's, and SkyLynx for USD$15 at a clearance store in an outlet mall in Niagara Falls, NY.

Gosh... I think SkyLynx was the only TF my dad bought for me directly, without it being a special occasion (birthday/Christmas).

Man, if I didn't already know about the Walmart g1's coming out and I saw them for the first time at a store I would definitely flip my wig and commence nostalgia tears of pure joy!

I had a little time and punched in one of the UPCs from the receipt on a telxon at the Wal-Mart I work at (Langford). It says we're getting 16 units of Bumblebee. They're in-transit and estimated to arrive on the 21st of July. I found it interesting that the system referred to him as a Legion class instead of something like "commemorative" or "reissue."

From seeing these in-store today it looks like BB is double-packed and Outback is short-packed? Have not seen them in a shipping box so cannot confirm it.

I have the original Outback (missing the gun :( ) but still want to grab this. Not to mention Starscream with the mini Megatron gun. Devastator I am still 50-50 since I got 2 loose ones but do like the idea to get one for MISB display.

That's insane! I didn't even notice that the leaders were marked down that low. Hopefully the next waves come in while it's in effect. We've been stuck on the first wave for so long here.

I'll post in this thread when I see the G1 figures come in. Looks like the telxon's estimate was too early, but at least the figures are actually on the truck.

UPDATE: I’ve put the Minibots out on the pegs in the TF section. They’re right beside the POTP prime master figures. Happy hunting to all in the Langford Wal-Mart!

1 case of mini bots was on the pegs when I went in the Langford BC Walmart this morning. Got the full set including the one Outback. Bumblebee, Tailgate and Swerve still there.

I think its pretty cool they get revealed at SDCC and before the weekend is over we have the first set.

Woof, that $50 price tag for Starscream! I know, I know inflation, exchange, etc. It still stings though.

On the other hand, if that screen is accurate, then Starscream will come in a case of 6!?!? If right, then there should hopefully be enough for those who really want him.

It might as well be ... thats pretty much exactly how I remember them back in the mid 80's, with the exception that the packing was fresher and obviously certain figures there I never saw at retail. But the diversification of figures and the shelves being fully stocked were what I remember. Toy shelves are abysmal today.

I think these are the same minibots as in the Takara Encore 10 package previously released. The Takara pack also had Pipes.

0630509 68972R = Outback
0630509 68973R = Swerve
0630509 68974R = Bumblebee

R is on the receipt but on the card back instead of letter R it is number:

2 = Tailgate
9 = Outback
6 = Swerve
3 = Bumblebee
