What is this roughly 7%-9% fee they're adding on top of the ticket price? Do they charge this fee at the door as well?

If you read the description of the ticketing system it tells you - HST
In previous years HST was included in the ticket price, this year it is listed separately.

No, this fee is in addition to HST.

For example:
The Saturday Deluxe pass = $35 + $3.15 (9% Fee) + $4.96 (13% HST) = $43.11.
The Premium Weekend pass = $100 + $7.15 (7% Fee) + $13.92 (13 % HST) = $121.02.

looks to me like the online presale comes out the same as the cash at door price if you just include the hst percentage. the service fee is for online sales just as if you where using a debit that charges that extra operating cost on top of your purchase.
cash at door is easier to manage and doesn't require having an online account to pay for to operate.
at least thats how im interpreting it. as long as when it say "25 at the door-cash only" that it means $25. if theres taxes on top of that entry fee that should be listed for cash admissions. its not so i dont believe it does.

It's against PayPal policy for a seller to charge more for a PayPal client than a non PayPal client.

PayPal has nothing to do with this.

Re: Tickets now on sale for TFcon Toronto 2019

Hello,

Some questions about TFCon 2019 tickets

Looking to secure some weekend passes

The website indicates they are $45 in advance, and $50 at the door

I presume that "in advance" means ordering off the website?
The website lists the price as $45.00 + $10.10 FEE & GST/HST
So presumably, ordering a single weekend pass online (if I am calculating 13% GST/HST correctly) is:
$45 (cost) + $10.10 (fee) + $7.16 (GST/HST) = $62.26

In past years, we have been able to purchase tickets in person with no issues, usually the Friday night before

If the best price is to buy in person, then is the only advantage to buying "in advance" simply "securing" your access to TFCon?

Are staff anticipating that the con tickets will "sell out" to the point where people arriving in person, will not be able to buy tickets (maximum attendance, etc)?

If tickets will "run out", then I can see the advantage to buying in advance online (obviously this absolutely applies to the 100 premium passes), but as it stands for regular weekend passes, I can't see a benefit?

Please advise if I am missing anything here
