Quick review: Impossible Toys TRNS-01 Valkyrie

PROS

-G1 Arcee!
-good sculpt
-G1-esque box and instructions
-guns stay in the hands during transformation, much like ROTF DLX Brawn
-easy to transform
-good arm articulation

CONS

-questionable paint job, dirty
-delicate
-nothing really locks anywhere (torso and shoulder plates should but they don't feel like it, tabs are too small and the minute you try to pose the figure they untab)
-loose right foot (could be just mine)
-neck joint is REALLY stiff (be careful)
-no waist rotation
-hard to balance
-bad print quality for the instructions

My call? For hardcore collectors and display only. And wait for a sale.

How does the face look in person?

I've noticed the details don't photograph well at all.

Not very impressive :( but this will probably be the G1-looking Arcee we will ever get...

The face sculpt is excellent imo, it's just that the head is all white with 2 blue eyes. Some plastic flash though, I'll have to trim it.

Ah - I see.

Though going off the pics, would it be accurate to say the spottier parts of the paint app masks aren't really going to be noticeable in either mode? It looks to me like the masks are off in the bits that you tend to have covered, like the underside of the cockpit.

And as for the head, I was wondering on that myself, but looking at G1 Arcee there's enough prior work of her with a white face as well as the helmet. So that seems accurate enough. Was mainly curious as the white does NOT photograph well at all.

If I could get it cheap, I'd bite. But I'm happy with my Animated Arcee for now.

Yeah, the dirty spots are too noticeable actually, they're just there. Some of the pink apps are quite thin though, like on the front portion of the car and the left side of the waist.
