Hey fellow bot addicts.

just a quick warning about ebay seller rei_jinn.

This seller has been selling encore convoys on ebay for some time, his price was good, so I bought a pair.

the items came totally rusted out. New and sealed but apparently stored somewhere humid or wet as the wheel wells, were brown and green from rust.

that wouldnt be so bad, if he had accepted a return, but instead, he opened a paypal claim against me, and with his tracking #s (which is the only thing paypal checks)he overturned my request for a return or partial refund.

even worse, I offered to buy two more if he would inspect them before sending, offered to return the two items and he could just send me two more, no refund needed.

his response? emails full of profanity and insults, and then he blocked me so I couldnt respond.

Please beware of this seller, he knows exactly how to play ebay and paypal and used this knowledge to screw me out of $220.

agreed shockwing, I am posting this around all the TF forums so noone else has to go through the same thing.

take a look at his negative feedback, I have never seen a seller care so little about his customers.

on seibertron.com, he actually started multiple accounts to discredit my posts about him, but the other posters called him on it and the thread was locked.

he also has multiple ebay IDs so be careful. rei_jinn and r_e_i

avoid both!

Unfortunate how this guy isnt even taking any level of blame. In turn he's blaming the buyers for their negligence and attempted scams. Appreciate the tip Sid Burn.

I know Paypal doesn't give two craps, but have you tried contacting eBay directly? Maybe forward those messages to eBay. I don't know if you'd ever get your money back, but at least you can give him some hell.

tried every route, even visa. no dice.

visa let me know that as long as he can provide tracking #s, he has me over a barrel.

as soon as I opened a paypal dispute, he escalated to a claim and provided tracking.

I resold the primes to a kitbasher to recover some of the dough.

but really, the issue here is making sure that other collectors dont get screwed over by this guy also.

it is unfortunate since I was willing to ship these back to him on my dime to get two proper ones in its place.

at this point, best I can do it spread the word.

Thanks for the heads up. Don't buy often from eBay, but it's stuff like this that turns people off from online sellers.

That's terrible. You get some jerk who is knowingly using the rules to shaft people. You just know he's gonna keep doing it.
