"Shatters"? It beat the previous record-holder by 5%. During a week with almost no competition (the second- and third-place movies are both in their third weeks.)

+5% of sales on opening is huge on a global aspect. Think of all the other concessions it generated. US long weekend falls on a Friday and those overall numbers will probably soar. Its seems to be the Bayverse is locked in for two more movies...

It's June.

The very beginning of blockbuster summer releases.

Currently at 17% on rotten tomatoes (17% critics and a paltry 63% audience).

Obviously the commitment to make this as Chinese involved as an American made movie can be paid off here.

The title of this thread is ridiculous.

Should end with "in China...also performs moderately in N.A. Markets."

Is there any movie as big as TF that could top this by summers end? I doubt it.

I like the idea that it was China involved. Tired of this American made only crap. Performs moderately? It did 100m in 3 days in the US alone, how is that moderately? And it's doing 301+m worldwide already and alot of countries don't even have it filming yet thanks to the World Cup. Which is boost this film even more.

Then again, I don't really care how big it did in NA, to me Global would be more important.

And it will see the biggest decline in the 2nd week. Should have rebooted the franchise. It's time for these Michael Bay movies to end.

Winter Soldier and Days of Future Past were way better movies and will make more money than this movie.
